8 Mile Junction Flyover Opened

March 23 – 8 mile Junction flyover opening ceremony was held in presence of Yangon Region Chief Minister Myint Swe and other officials. Myint Swe unveiled a stone inscription of the bridge.

The 8 Mile Junction Flyover costing Kyats 15.8 billion, is located at the junction of Pyay Road, Kaba-Aye Pagoda Road and Kyaikwaing Pagoda Road and is built by Crown Advanced Construction. The 525-meter flyover carries a four-lane motorway with a length of 465 metres (1719 feet). The bridge can support vehicles weighing up to 75 tonnes.

The new overpass will help relieve congestions along Pyay Road and at the junction. Now, buses and cars can head towards Yangon International Airports and the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway with ease. Last month, Kokkine junction flyover, was opened completing two months ahead of schedule.
